It’s almost that time of the year again! No, not Christmas…. Graduation! Whether you (or someone you know) is graduating for Pre-K, High School, or even College, graduations are most definitely a time to be celebrated.
It has been a while since my last graduation. Two years to be exact! But I am so excited that this year I will be attending a VERY important graduation! Kevin, my husband, is finally going graduate after what has had to be the longest semester ever.
Needless to say I will be throwing him a small graduation party. I was looking high and low for graduation cards, and while printed graduation cards and invites are so beautiful, I really really reallllllly wanted to make mine!
I saw this super cute idea and was looking for a way to make something that resembled it and found absolutely nothing.
I had just about given up when I came across Joy. She had the same exact problem that I did (except she came up with a solution)! She made a file that could be used in Cricut Design Space AND she made a video tutorial. Totally saved my life. (If you have no idea what a Cricut machine is or what it does you should definitely check it out! I have this one and am absolutely head over heels in love. It’s my second baby.)
- Design Space File from Joy’s Site (see link above)
- Black Cardstock Paper
- White Cardstock Paper
- Prongs (I painted mine black, you’ll need black paint if you want to do the same)
After having the file cut, it was cake to put it together. There are so many ways to customize this! You can use different kinds of paper, you can use different colored Tassels that you can get from over here. If you want to be really fancy you can use some brads and eyelets! So take it and run with it. The possibilities are endless!
Happy crafting, and happy graduating class of 2017!
