I’m the kind of person that likes to plan things in advance. Wayyyyyyy in advance. Like start planning my daughter’s first birthday party the week she was born in advance.
Yes. I know. I’m crazy.
And no, I’m not kidding about beginning to plan her first birthday the week she was born. Blame it on my Type A personality.
But really, can you blame me? The moment your little chunkers is born you just can’t help but think of all the milestones they’ll hit – especially the one year mark.
I have always loved Dr. Seuss, something about the rhyming, the colors, and the made up words really speaks to me! Needless to say that is exactly the theme I wanted for our baby girl’s first birthday.
I really like to make things by hand (you can see some of the things I’ve made here and here).I think it makes it that much more special. So, I decided that I wanted to make our Dr. Seuss invitations by hand too!

Mother’s Day is one of the most stressful days of the year for me (along with Father’s Day) because I think it is such a difficult task to get my mom something special that shows how much I love and appreciate her, and also have it be something she will love and use. Especially since every year my brother kicks my butt by writing some fancy shmancy poem for her. Gotta love sibling rivalry.
So this year, this is what I have in mind.
Mom, if you’re reading this. You can stop now. Go away. Leave. Thanks.
